(Automotive) I have a 1998 Dodge Stratus that I need to sell that had many scratches on the trunk lid from a cat that decided to turn the trunk lid into a sleeping spot. Every time I would approach the car at night, the cat would jump off the car in haste, creating deep scratches from its paws each time it did so. I bought the Turtle Wax product at Auto Zone in hope that it would cover the scratches well enough for me to sell the car. "Looks" is everything when trying to sell a car; believe me! After using the product, I was extremely pleased that it not only covered the deep scratches, but made the car look like new; I almost don't want to sell it now that it looks so good!The bottle the product comes in has a cut-out in it where a lip stick type of applicator is stored. The lip stick type of applicator holds a lip stick style dispensed hard, colored wax the same color as the liquid wax in the bottle. (Automotive) I bought the black wax and the "chipstick" was a bonus. I used the chipstick all over my honda pilot, on the scratches under the door handles and on the seven inch down to the metal scratch I just incurred today thanks to a jerk in a parking lot who doored me! Not only did the chipstick hide the seven inch scratch but it also completely erased the mini scratches under the door handles! It isn't an eraser, it won't make every scratch disappear, but it sure got rid of a lot of mine!!! I waxed the car after using the chipstick (which I pressed pretty hard with) and the door with the seven inch scratch has a mirror finish, you can't even tell there was ever a scratch there! I am floored, and this saved me over a grand in paint work. I will definitely use this on my next scratched door, and would recommend it to anyone with a scratch! I read mixed reviews, but my experience with this is amazing. (Automotive) Here are the basic metrics: I have a 2003 Chevy Suburban that is Black (GM factory paint code Black 40). The paint was already in good condition despite its 94000 miles, with no apparent oxidation. The previous owner likely had an eager dog because the paw marks were on at least four panels in the form of various swirls and up and down scratches.It's important to note that for all the visible scratches (white in color and obvious from 12-14 feet), most scratches could not be felt when running my fingertips over them. But some could. I carefully followed the instructions and used liberal amounts of the black Color Magic on a damp cloth. I did one panel at a time and was patient and careful. I waited for the haze to appear and then waited a few minutes longer. I used one cloth for wiping off the wax residue and another just for buffing. This made all the difference.
